Day 19 - Trip to Quebec, Canada

It is Monday, June l8 and actually our first day of our Caravan Trip.  It seems like forever since we planned this trip and now here we are.  I'm sure it will fly by but we'll take it one day at a time.

As we were told in our briefing, there wasn't going to be a lot to see on our way to Quebec; however, we stopped at a couple waysides and read about the White Pines and syrup - both popular products in this part of the country.  I've never seen so many trucks hauling logs and I come from Wisconsin where a lot of lumber is processed.  We also saw a lot of signs warning us about Moose but then again, we only saw signs no moose.    A lot of forests along the way as well as lakes, rivers and creeks.

Bonjour!!!!  We crossed the border w/o any difficulty; however, our Wagon Master's were the chosen ones and the guards went through their RV from top to bottom.  They were there for an hour as they carry a lot of food for us as well as drinks - thank goodness it was them not us as we were over our limit.  Now, all the road signs changed from miles to kilometers and gallons changed to liters.  A lot of their signs are more descriptive by picture vs words.  We have to really pay attention to where we are going now.  We noticed so many of the houses are so pretty, clean and decorated w/flowers.  They also have carports as well as garages.  I would have loved to have seen the inside of the house above.  I hear also that there are a lot of huge Catholic Churches.  We will be seeing several tomorrow.

After Happy Hour, we were entertained by a group of four guys that played 50's music.  They were here in the park and asked if we wanted them to play for us so it was an unexpected treat.  They were great and very funny.  The drummer used an assortment of things - even a metal bowl - to play.  Of course, they brought out an empty guitar case for tips, which was no problem as they were certainly worth it.

We will be up early tomorrow traveling in a bus to see the sights so I'm going to close for today.
