It is Friday, June lst, and another cold rainy day. In the morning, we went to breakfast with
Dear Friends that we know from Mesa, Arizona, Roberta and Neil. It was fun chit-chatting about their time
spent at home in Plainfield. Of course,
we did bring up tennis. We are on a
league together at the resort in Mesa.
They are both very good players.
Roberta is more than generous and patient when she plays w/me. I always appreciate the great tips – keep
them coming. Our visit was short but
sweet as we had many miles yet to travel but we thank them very much for taking
time out to spend w/us. See you in Mesa
this fall.

Our next stop was Miamisburg, Ohio (South of Dayton). We have very special friends that we’ve known
for forever, Phyllis and Wayne. They now
spend their Winter’s in Arizona as well so we do get together more often. Of course, we went out for lunch. I have a feeling we will be eating our way
across the country – heaven help us.
They took us on a tour of Dayton, which was the home of the Wright
Brothers. The downtown area features a
very attractive landscaped park along the river, and the Fifth Third Field,
where the Cincinnati Red’s minor league plays – beautiful huge park. There were
a lot of other places we could have seen but again it was a nasty cold and
windy day so we opted to just drive around.
After stopping for ice cream(what did I say about eating), we went back
to their house for a hot cup of coffee and ended up playing Mexican Train until
8 p.m. They also greeted us w/a bag of goodies made in the Dayton area - cookies, brownies, jam, chocolates and a lovely basket. Oh dear, time to say our
farewells. They drove us to our RV,
which was parked in a church parking lot and to our surprise, the lot was full
of cars leaving us very little room to maneuver out. Bruce; however, did a great job and with only
inches on each side was able to drive in between and around two cars and a huge
dumpster. We were all holding our
breaths. Good job Babe. Whew!!!

Of course, the rain has been w/us all the way including our
drive to Columbus, Ohio where we are spending the night.
